17 Sailors attended the first IOCA SW regional training session at Lyme Regis on the weekend of 22nd and 23rd October. Coached by Fraser Woodley, Jake Farren-Price and James Bishop.

Maximum time was spent on the water on Saturday making the most of the sunshine and a good fresh breeze in Lyme Bay. The sailors were split into 3 groups and worked on their boat handling.

Sundays forecast was for more wind and to be building throughout the day. The sailors got ready and on the water as early as possible to make the most of the conditions. With the swell and wind building the sailors came in at lunch time and it was decided that land based activities would complete the day. The sailors ran through boat rigging and set up, exercises and had a thorough debrief with some video analysis.

Thanks to Lyme Regis sailing club for hosting the event – we were made to feel very welcome and both the club and sailing conditions were brilliant. Special thanks to Dave Stubbs and the Lyme Regis parents for their support.
