Vice Chair of the IOCA committee and a Director of IOCA(UK) Ltd.

David handles membership enquiries and advises the Class on Legal matters. He is Company Secretary and a Director of IOCA(UK) Ltd. As the longest standing member of the Committee he provides a useful perspective on all Committee matters.

President of IOCA(UK), Chair of the Selection Committee and Class PRO. David is an International Race Officer, has had children in the Optimist Class and brings a wealth of experience to the Committee.

Richard oversees all financial matters for the Class, including events, training, expenses, teams and generally keeping IOCA running efficiently.

Rob oversees on-the-water safety for the Class and manages the Safety Fleet at national events.

Suzie oversees the organisation of our national championship racing events. 

Responsible for supporting Optimist training and racing at a regional level, working with the regional reps and Hatty Morsley, our Class Development Officer

Organises the national training program for the Optimist Class in the UK

Organises the IOCA(UK) / GBR teams visiting international events.

Supports the teams officer sending our sailors to international events.

Manages IOCA RIBs, trailers  and anything else equipment-related belonging to the Class. 

Alex leads on child welfare and safe-guarding issues for the Class.

Head Measurer for the Class, advises and represents the Class on all technical matters. Do contact Will if you would like to find a Class Measurer in your area.

Filippo oversees the recruitment and coordination of volunteers for IOCA events.

John is our part-time administrator and is regularly seen in the race office at our racing events. John has many years of experience in the Optimist Class and contributes to all aspects of the day-to-day running of the Association.

Works alongside the Regional Development Officer and other committee members with the aim of growing the Class.
