IOCA UK has now received a definitive update from IODA regarding the question of Computer 8 numbers (that is the type that start life as an 8 and can be trimmed to make other digits).

In summary, IODA requests that Computer 8 numbers are no longer applied to new sails.

The basic details are below:

1. For IODA events from 2016 onwards (except 2016 African Championships), sails with Computer 8 numbers /national letters will not be permitted if certified after April 30th 2016.

2. For all other events from 2016 onwards (except 2016 African Championships), sails with Computer 8 numbers / national letters will not be accepted if certified after August 15th 2016.

3. Sails with Computer 8 numbers/national letters certified before the respective deadlines will be grandfathered.
